Greenberg Traurig strengthens Milan tax team with counsel Andrea Sgrilli
"Greenberg Traurig has hired Andrea Sgrilli as counsel in its Milan tax team. He will work on tax for extraordinary transactions, including cross-border and real estate tax matters."
Sgrilli arrives from Clifford Chance and brings consolidated experience in extraordinary transactions with a strong international component. He specialises in tax aspects of extraordinary transactions, assisting investment funds, companies and Italian and international investors in the tax structuring of acquisitions and investments, advising on real estate taxation and handling complex tax issues both domestically and cross-border.
His arrival forms part of the development of the Tax practice led by partner Luca Marraffa, who recently joined Greenberg Traurig with his team, and sits alongside Giovanni Monte, who is specialised in tax litigation. With Sgrilli’s entry the Tax group led by Marraffa is regarded as complete, structured to assist clients across the entire tax cycle, from ordinary and extraordinary tax advisory to transactional tax matters and tax litigation, also benefiting from Monte’s contribution.
Luigi Santa Maria, co-managing shareholder of the Milan office, commented that Sgrilli’s entry completes the development project for the Milan Tax platform, which now brings together complementary expertise in tax advisory, transactional tax and tax litigation and represents a further step in the firm’s growth and its goal to offer clients a fully integrated, multidisciplinary tax service oriented to domestic and international market needs.
