Squire Patton Boggs Expands Pensions Practice With Senior Hires

Amanda Small and Alison White have joined Squire Patton Boggs as members of the firm’s Pensions Practice in Manchester.

Amanda Small has been appointed partner to head the firm’s Pensions Practice in Manchester. She joins from Eversheds Sutherland and returns to Squire Patton Boggs, where she previously spent eight years. Amanda advises trustees, corporate sponsors and providers on defined contribution (DC), defined benefit (DB) and hybrid pension arrangements and brings extensive experience advising trustees and providers of commercial DC master trusts and large own-trust DC pension plans. She also has particular expertise advising on endgame solutions, including DB buy-in and buy-out transactions, insurance de-risking strategies, run-on options and consolidation through commercial superfunds.

Alison White joins from Eversheds Sutherland as a director in the firm’s Pensions Practice. Alison advises trustees, corporate sponsors and providers on DC, DB and hybrid pension arrangements and has particular expertise on endgame solutions such as DB buy-in and buy-out transactions, insurance de-risking strategies, run-on options and consolidation through commercial superfunds.

The appointments form part of Squire Patton Boggs’ stated strategy to expand its DC practice and strengthen its presence in the North West. The firm advises on more than 300 pension plans with over £400 billion of assets and won two Pensions Law Firm of the Year awards in 2025.
