Armstrong Teasdale names Claudia J. Frehe Ph.D. as Intellectual Property Associate in Washington D.C.

Dr. Frehe brings more than a decade of life sciences patent prosecution experience. Her practice focuses on antibody therapeutics, gene‑editing technologies (including CRISPR and RNA‑editing platforms), RNA‑based therapeutics, and cell and gene therapy. She leverages a scientific background in clinical immunology, immuno‑oncology, and solid organ and stem cell transplantation to align patent strategy with business objectives and to support milestones such as raising capital, preparing for an acquisition or IPO, or commercial launch.
As a patent attorney and formerly as a patent agent, Frehe has developed and managed worldwide patent portfolios, drafted and prosecuted patent applications across the life sciences, and handled validity/invalidity, noninfringement, and freedom‑to‑operate analyses, due diligence, and coordination of worldwide prosecution with foreign associates. She joins Armstrong Teasdale from another D.C.‑area law firm, where she served as an associate.
Dr. Frehe earned her Ph.D. from Baylor College of Medicine, where her research focused on developing and testing novel chimeric antigen receptor T cells targeting solid tumors.
