Isabelle De Smedt joins Dentons Litigation practice in Belgium
"Isabelle De Smedt joins Dentons in Belgium as a partner in Litigation and in Compliance and Investigations, bringing nearly 20 years of white-collar, sanctions and cross-border investigations experience."
A member of the Brussels Bar since 2008, Isabelle De Smedt has nearly two decades of experience advising multinational companies on white-collar defense, international investigations, sanctions and export control. She began her career as a corporate and M&A lawyer before transitioning into regulatory compliance and investigations, and her M&A background continues to inform her approach to compliance due diligence and transactional risk. She leads cross-border internal investigations and risk assessments, advises clients on anti-corruption frameworks such as the FCPA and the UK Bribery Act, and helps them navigate the evolving EU and international sanctions landscape. She works extensively with clients in the life sciences and healthcare industries across the US, Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America. Prior to joining Dentons, she was a partner at K&L Gates.
