DLA Piper welcomes Mitchell Weiss to its Investment Funds practice in Chicago

Weiss joins DLA Piper as a Partner. His practice focuses on fund structuring, inbound investment planning, cross-border acquisition structuring, inbound financing, and tax opinions. He advises U.S.-based and foreign multinationals, private equity funds, and sovereign wealth funds across the United States, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia, assisting clients with tax considerations related to capital raising, investor structuring, portfolio management, ongoing operations, and exit strategies.
Jesse Criz, who co-leads the firm’s global Investment Funds practice, said Weiss will add further depth to the firm’s funds tax capabilities and help clients address complex structural challenges and achieve their business objectives across markets worldwide. The firm’s global investment funds team provides integrated advice to sponsors, fund managers, and institutional investors across the full spectrum of private investment funds and all stages of a fund’s life cycle.
