Arnall Golden Gregory LLP Adds Healthcare and Cross-Border Enforcement Partner Murad Hussain in Washington, D.C.

At AGG, Hussain will practice across the firm’s Healthcare, Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Government Investigations, and International Trade practices and will join the Life Sciences industry team. He will also serve as the firm’s chair of Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) Compliance.
Hussain’s practice focuses on defending healthcare providers and life sciences companies in government investigations, False Claims Act qui tam suits, and Medicare disputes, and on representing domestic and international clients in cross-border enforcement, compliance, and litigation matters. He brings seasoned trial experience, having defended clients in federal criminal jury trials, obtained dismissals of FCA lawsuits, negotiated declinations and other favorable resolutions, and pursued affirmative litigation against government actors.
He advises healthcare providers nationwide, frequently representing medical practices in outpatient vascular care (including interventional cardiology and interventional radiology), Mohs surgery, wound care, and ophthalmology. He also represents multinational companies, investors, and foreign-funded U.S. entities in matters involving export controls and sanctions, customs and tariffs, and FARA. Recent matters include representing an international technology manufacturer in litigation challenging Department of Commerce Entity List determinations and securing the removal of foreign subsidiaries of a U.S. global electronics distributor from the Entity List.
Hussain clerked for the Honorable Ellen Segal Huvelle of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. He earned his J.D. from Yale Law School and his B.A. in psychology, magna cum laude, from Harvard University. In addition to his client work, he is an adjunct professor of trial practice at Georgetown University Law Center, serves on the board of directors of Legal Services of Northern Virginia, was appointed by the Supreme Court of Virginia to the faculty of the Virginia State Bar Harry L. Carrico Professionalism Course, and has been recognized by the Outpatient Endovascular and Interventional Society as a “Distinguished Friend.”
