M&A Partner Jamie McLaren Joins Paul, Weiss in Hong Kong

Jamie McLaren is joining Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP as a partner in the M&A Group within the firm’s Corporate Department, resident in Hong Kong.

McLaren advises private equity sponsors, sovereign wealth funds and public and private companies on a broad range of transactions across India and Southeast Asia, with a focus on private equity investments, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures. He will join Paul, Weiss as a partner in the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions practice based in Hong Kong.

He has advised on transactions across multiple sectors, including digital and broader infrastructure, energy transition, life sciences and healthcare, financial services, and technology, media and telecommunications. Recent representations include advising Bain Capital Special Situations on its acquisition of Avery Lodge from Blackstone, Keppel Infrastructure on its sale of waste management business 800 Super, and TPG Capital on its investment in edtech platform Eruditus.

McLaren is ranked in the Legal 500 and has been ranked by Chambers Asia-Pacific for Corporate/M&A: International in Singapore since 2022 and for Corporate/M&A (International Firms) in India since 2024. He earned an L.L.B. and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Aberdeen.
