Cooley Strengthens Cyber/Data/Privacy Practice with Addition of Michael La Marca
"Cooley adds Michael La Marca to its global cyber/data/privacy group; Meredith Halama and Katie Cramer recently joined the practice. They will work on privacy, cybersecurity and AI matters within Cooley’s litigation team."
Michael La Marca joins Cooley from Hunton Andrews Kurth, where he was a partner in that firm’s data, cyber and privacy group. At Cooley he enters as a partner in the global cyber/data/privacy group and will be based in New York. La Marca advises a range of clients, from startups to multinational companies, on privacy, cybersecurity and AI laws, with a particular focus on financial institutions, fintechs and investment management firms. He also negotiates privacy-, cybersecurity- and AI-related aspects of commercial agreements and M&A transactions.
Meredith Halama and Katie Cramer were added to Cooley’s cyber/data/privacy practice in Washington, DC and Denver, respectively. The firm said their additions, together with La Marca, reinforce the litigation department’s cyber/data/privacy team and expand Cooley’s capabilities to serve major technology companies and innovative growth companies.
