Byron Rooney will join Latham & Watkins as Global Vice Chair of the firm’s Capital Markets Practice. He is a nationally recognized capital markets partner with extensive experience advising late-stage private and public company clients, as well as investment banks, on a broad range of corporate and securities matters. His practice focuses on capital-raising transactions, public company disclosure and corporate governance, and he represents issuers and financial institutions in IPOs, direct listings, private placements and other equity offerings, as well as investment-grade, high-yield and convertible debt offerings. Rooney has broad industry experience with a particular emphasis on fintech, digital assets, aerospace & defense and other innovative technologies. He joins from Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP. Rooney received an LLM from Boston University School of Law, a BCom from Bond University and an LLB from Bond University Faculty of Law in Australia.
Dan Gibbons joins Latham & Watkins as a partner. He brings market-leading experience advising late-stage private and public company clients and investment banks on a wide range of general corporate and securities matters, including capital-raising transactions, public company disclosure and corporate governance. Gibbons represents issuers and financial institutions in IPOs, direct listings, private placements and other equity offerings, as well as in investment-grade, high-yield and convertible debt offerings. His industry focus includes fintech, digital assets and other innovative technologies. Gibbons joins from Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, where he served as a partner. He holds a JD from New York University School of Law and a BS from George Washington University.
