Giancarlo Pellegrini Joins Squire Patton Boggs to Lead Congressional Investigations Group

Pellegrini joins from the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform of the U.S. House of Representatives, where he served as Senior Counsel and led a number of high-profile congressional investigations. In that role he oversaw investigative teams and led depositions in matters including inquiries related to the crimes of Jeffrey Epstein.
His congressional experience also includes senior leadership positions such as Democratic Staff Director to the Task Force on the Attempted Assassination of President Donald J. Trump, where he managed hearings, investigative strategy and oversight of federal agencies, and Democratic Chief Counsel to the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, where he led the Minority’s engagement in the investigation into the origins of the COVID-19 virus. He began his House career as Elections Counsel to the Committee on House Administration, leading legal preparations for the electoral count on January 6, 2021, and subsequent legislative efforts to reform the Electoral Count Act.
Prior to his service in Congress, Pellegrini spent four years as Assistant Counsel to former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, where he assisted in drafting laws, regulations and executive orders on topics including election law, civil rights, affordable housing and veterans’ affairs. He earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School and is admitted to practice in New York, the District of Columbia and the Supreme Court of the United States.
