Asra Hashmi Joins Clark Hill in Pittsburgh as Labor & Employment Member

"Asra Hashmi joins Clark Hill as a Member in its Labor & Employment group in Pittsburgh, focusing on employment litigation and disability-access matters and advising employers on compliance."

Asra Hashmi has joined Clark Hill’s Labor & Employment practice group as a Member in the firm’s Pittsburgh office.

Hashmi is an employment litigator who defends employers nationwide in individual, class, and collective actions. Her record includes complete defense wins at jury trial and in arbitration. She brings a business-first perspective developed during nearly eight years at Verizon and further defense-side experience accumulated during tenures at two of the nation’s largest specialty labor and employment firms.

Her practice covers the full range of workplace disputes, including discrimination, wage-and-hour, retaliation, and leave matters under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Equal Pay Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, and related federal and state laws. She also has deep experience in disability access litigation, defending businesses against website, mobile application, and architectural barrier claims under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and counsels clients on accessibility compliance to address risks before they become lawsuits.

Hashmi’s background on the business side—in human resources, sales operations, and government contracts—has informed her ability to anticipate how employment decisions play out inside organizations as well as in litigation. She regularly advises and trains employers across sectors, including national retailers, healthcare systems, hospitality operators, and companies in construction, mining, transportation, and logistics, on workplace policies, compliance, and day-to-day HR decisions that carry legal risk.

She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and before the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. District Courts for the Western, Middle, and Eastern Districts of Pennsylvania. Hashmi earned her J.D. from the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University and a B.S.B.A. in corporate finance from Duquesne University.
