Latham & Watkins Adds Preeminent Antitrust and Competition Partner in Brussels

Schubert’s practice focuses on advising global companies on complex EU antitrust proceedings, including merger clearance and digital regulation matters, with particular emphasis on the technology and telecommunications industries. He has extensive experience on high-profile cross-border transactions, complex investigations, and strategic regulatory matters, and has represented leading multinational companies in significant European Commission merger control, antitrust and digital regulation matters, including ten Phase II EU merger investigations. He has also played a leading role in precedent-setting Digital Markets Act enforcement proceedings.
Schubert joins from Freshfields. He is a German-qualified lawyer who completed his state examinations in Cologne, holds a Maîtrise en Droit from the University Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne), and is admitted to practice in Germany and Belgium.
