Simmons & Simmons appoints Koen Vanhaerents to lead Brussels corporate practice

Vanhaerents brings more than 35 years of experience advising on private equity, strategic and public M&A and capital markets matters, as well as fund structuring and venture capital. He has a broad, largely transactional practice and significant experience advising multinational corporates, private equity funds and financial investors on domestic and cross-border transactions across industries from financial infrastructure and utilities to technology, manufacturing and food. He joins Simmons & Simmons as a partner leading the Brussels corporate team and will support the development of the firm’s corporate practice in Belgium while enhancing its European offering. His appointment follows the retirement of the firm’s Corporate & Commercial partner in Belgium, Carl Meyntjens. On joining the firm, Vanhaerents said he looked forward to contributing to the development of the corporate practice in Belgium and across the wider European network and to joining an enthusiastic and growing team of 30 lawyers in Brussels.
