Greenberg Traurig Bolsters Private Equity Practice with Seven Specialist Hires

"Greenberg Traurig adds seven specialists to its New York Private Equity Practice, joining teams in benefits & compensation, environmental, labor & employment, health care & FDA, real estate, tax and fund finance."

Leonard Kim, Brian Wong, Julia Quigley, Chris (Sang Min) Shim, Lucas Kilravey, Evangelia Podaras and Fishel Schreiber have joined Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Private Equity Practice in the New York office.

Three lawyers joined Greenberg Traurig from Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Leonard Kim joined as a shareholder in the Corporate Practice in May; he focuses primarily on fund finance, structured finance and synthetic finance and has experience with a broad spectrum of financing products, representing institutional and private credit lenders, private equity and private credit sponsors, registered funds, and business development companies. Evangelia Podaras joined as a shareholder in the Labor & Employment Practice in November 2025; she advises on U.S. and multijurisdictional corporate transactions including acquisition-related labor and employment due diligence, risk assessment and post-acquisition workforce integration, and counsels private equity firms and portfolio companies on executive separations, internal investigations, restrictive covenants and other employment matters. Fishel Schreiber joined as a shareholder in the Benefits & Compensation Practice in June 2025; he handles executive compensation matters in complex business transactions with a focus on private equity transactions, including domestic and cross-border mergers, leveraged buyouts and joint ventures, and advises on employment and separation agreements and the structuring and implementation of management equity and cash-based incentive plans.

Brian Wong joined from Goodwin Procter LLP in March as a shareholder in the Health Care & FDA Practice. He represents private equity sponsors and health care providers in M&A transactions, strategic investments and partnerships across the health care sector, and has deep health care regulatory experience advising on operational compliance, fraud and abuse risks including Anti-Kickback Statute and Stark Law compliance, as well as audits and investigations.

Julia Quigley joined from Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in January as of counsel in the Environmental Practice. She advises on environmental matters in corporate transactions, including identifying and managing environmental contamination, compliance and operational risk; structuring environmental insurance programs to transfer environmental risk; advising portfolio companies on remediation and compliance; and negotiating environmentally sensitive provisions of real estate transaction documents such as leases, property sale agreements, environmental indemnity and access agreements.

Chris (Sang Min) Shim joined from Ropes & Gray LLP in October 2025 as a shareholder in the Tax Practice. He advises private equity sponsors, fund managers, institutional investors and corporate clients on federal income tax matters arising in M&A, private equity and other complex business transactions, and counsels private equity, hedge, credit and real estate funds on tax issues relating to fund formation, structuring, operations and ongoing fund manager matters.

Lucas Kilravey joined from Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP in November 2025 as of counsel in the Real Estate Practice. He advises on all aspects of real estate matters in connection with domestic and international corporate transactions, assisting private equity firms, public companies and portfolio companies in identifying risks and navigating real estate considerations across industries and jurisdictions, with deep experience negotiating commercial leases in connection with corporate transactions and supporting ongoing client operations.
