Niko Jakovou joins Schalast as Partner and will become part of the Corporate/M&A practice, working closely with the Banking & Finance team led by Prof. Dr. Andreas Walter. He advises on a broad range of corporate law matters, with particular focus on stock corporation law, association law and cooperative law. Jakovou has extensive experience in capital markets and investment law and in selected financing matters. His clients include listed companies and businesses in the financial services, technology and IT sectors, and he also advises companies in the sports industry. Jakovou spent almost twenty years at Deloitte Legal and its predecessor firm Raupach.
Christoph Meves joins Schalast as Partner. He advises clients on corporate and capital markets law and on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, further strengthening the firm’s transaction-focused Corporate/M&A practice. A particular focus of his work is the fintech sector, where he advises companies active in crowdfunding and crowdinvesting. Meves began his legal career at Bird & Bird in Düsseldorf before joining Deloitte, which he leaves after more than four years.
Their appointments further strengthen Schalast’s Corporate/M&A and Capital Markets capabilities in Düsseldorf.
