Jay is a first-chair trial lawyer with more than 20 years of experience representing technology, media, life sciences and other innovative companies in high-stakes patent and trade secret disputes. He has litigated matters in federal district courts throughout the United States and before the U.S. International Trade Commission, and has argued before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. His practice spans a broad range of technologies, including wireless communications, smartphones, semiconductors, computer software and medical devices, and extends to disputes involving emerging technologies such as energy transition, data centers and grid infrastructure. Jay joins the firm as a partner based in Los Angeles. He holds a bachelor’s degree in neurobiology and a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley.
