Freeths appoints Alastair Frood as Partner in Commercial Dispute Resolution in Glasgow
"Freeths has appointed Alastair Frood as Partner in its Commercial Dispute Resolution team in Glasgow. He joins from Eversheds Sutherland and will work on complex commercial, financial, regulatory and insolvency disputes."
Frood joins Freeths from Eversheds Sutherland, where he served as Head of Litigation in Scotland and led the development of that firm’s commercial litigation practice. He brings more than 30 years’ experience in dispute resolution, specialising in complex commercial litigation, financial and regulatory disputes, insolvency‑related litigation and professional negligence claims. Throughout his career he has built and scaled litigation teams at leading firms including Shepherd and Wedderburn and DLA Piper, and has established relationships with major financial institutions, insolvency practitioners and professional services firms. His practice spans high‑value and often complex disputes across the Court of Session, arbitration and mediation, frequently involving multi‑party and cross‑border elements.
His arrival forms part of continued growth in Freeths’ Glasgow office; over the past 12 months the firm has also recruited Commercial Dispute Resolution partner Jane Dickers, Corporate Partner Louise Mahon and Commercial Partner Richard Lockhart, reflecting increasing client demand and the firm’s commitment to strengthening its presence in Scotland.
