Norton Rose Fulbright adds former SEC enforcement lawyer Christian Schultz to Washington, DC office

Schultz previously served for a decade as Assistant Chief Litigation Counsel in the Division of Enforcement of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. He joins Norton Rose Fulbright from Arnold & Porter and will work in the firm’s regulation, investigations, securities litigation and compliance practice. He brings substantial experience in high‑profile regulatory investigations, complex financial and securities litigation, white collar matters and enforcement actions before the SEC, FINRA and the PCAOB.
While at the SEC, Schultz investigated alleged violations of the federal securities laws and represented the agency in enforcement actions in federal court and in administrative proceedings. He led investigations on matters spanning auditor independence, accounting and disclosure, market manipulation, broker‑dealer and investment adviser regulation, insider trading, supervision failures, complex financial instruments and digital assets, compliance failures and whistleblowing.
Prior to his government service, Schultz represented Fortune 100 companies in state and federal courts across the country and in administrative proceedings and arbitrations, focusing on the consumer products, life sciences, pharmaceutical, medical device and insurance industries.
Schultz has received multiple Enforcement Director’s Awards and the SEC Chair’s Award for Excellence for his role in SEC v. Tourre, and has been recognized by Chambers USA and The Legal 500 US. He is licensed to practice in the District of Columbia, Arizona, Illinois and Texas, and holds a law degree and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and bachelor’s degrees from Michigan State University.
