Paul Hastings strengthens New York private equity platform with partner Brian C. Miner

Brian C. Miner has joined Paul Hastings LLP as a partner based in New York.

Miner joins from Dechert. He advises private equity firms on a wide array of domestic and international transactions and will work within Paul Hastings’ private equity and M&A platform. His practice spans asset management, insurance, life sciences and healthcare, and energy and manufacturing. Miner’s experience includes counseling on acquisitions and dispositions of interests in asset management firms and financial institutions and structuring, negotiating and executing GP stakes and other minority and control investments in private equity and other asset managers.

His clients have included Lovell Minnick, Industry Ventures, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, LLR Partners, Warner Pacific Insurance Services, Newport Specialty Partners, APCO Holdings, Scientific Games and Suede. Representative matters cited include representing Industry Ventures in its minority GP stake investment from Petershill and subsequent sale to Goldman Sachs for up to $965 million; HPS Investment Partners in its minority GP stake investment from Blue Owl Capital; and Lovell Minnick in the formation of Newport Specialty Partners and its growth investment in Complex Coverage, Inc. Miner is the eighth private equity partner to join Paul Hastings in the past eight months across New York, Boston and London, furthering the firm’s global private equity expansion.
