Jonathan J. Frankel Joins Jones Day Financial Markets Practice in New York

Jonathan J. Frankel has joined Jones Day as a partner in the Firm’s Financial Markets Practice and is based in the New York office, where he will help lead the Global Leveraged Finance and Private Credit practice.

Mr. Frankel has worked on many of the largest and most complex multinational leveraged finance transactions. His practice involves representing arrangers of syndicated loans, debt and equity securities offerings, capital solutions and liability management exercises, as well as lenders providing private credit and asset-based loans. He also advises companies seeking financing and provides general corporate and securities law advice and mergers and acquisitions representation.

He has represented lead arrangers in financings for the acquisitions of ADT, Avaya, Capsugel, Cornerstone Building Brands, Endemol/Shine, Kestra Financial, Michaels Stores, Nielsen, Planview, Rackspace, and The Weather Channel. His transactions span public financings, leveraged buyouts, going-private transactions, spin-offs, and restructurings. His clients include leading investment banks, commercial and regional banks, private credit lenders, asset-based lenders, and corporations.

Mr. Frankel joins Jones Day as a partner and will contribute to the Firm’s global leveraged finance and private credit capabilities. He has been repeatedly recognized by IFLR 1000 and The Legal 500. He received his J.D. from Harvard Law School and his A.B. from Duke University, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, with distinction in economics.
