BakerHostetler strengthens healthcare practice with partner Mary Waller in Chicago

Waller’s practice focuses on healthcare transactions involving hospitals, health systems and academic medical centers, as well as private equity investors in the sector. She advises academic medical centers and universities, health systems, hospitals and other healthcare providers, and private equity firms and their portfolio companies on complex transactional and regulatory matters. Her work spans mergers and acquisitions, strategic affiliations, joint ventures, corporate reorganizations and physician practice management arrangements, with particular emphasis on academic medical center and health system growth strategies and health system/physician alignment.
Waller also represents private equity firms and their portfolio companies in platform investments, divestitures and physician practice management arrangements, giving her experience on both hospital- and private equity-backed deals. She provides corporate and regulatory guidance on matters including facility licensing, reimbursement and corporate practice of medicine considerations.
Waller joins BakerHostetler from an AmLaw 20 firm and enters the firm as a partner. She received her J.D. from the University of Michigan and her B.A. from the University of Southern California.
