Dentons US Welcomes Corporate Partner Cameron Kates to New York Office

Kates advises technology companies, investors and financial institutions on commercial and corporate transactions, product development and regulatory issues arising in fast-moving markets. He has particular depth in fintech, digital assets and AI, and advises on financings, technology transactions, joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions. He also maintains a product counseling practice, working alongside companies as they design, develop and bring to market products in regulated or potentially regulated spaces.
Before joining Dentons, Kates served as chief legal officer and chief business officer of a leading digital asset company, where he led market-shaping acquisitions, structured commercial agreements with global brands and creators, navigated regulatory investigations—including closure of a Wells Notice—and prevailed in multiple litigation matters. He also previously practiced at several large law firms, representing clients in significant private equity and M&A transactions, capital markets technology mandates and complex joint ventures.
