Andersen Italia launches AI Governance & Compliance practice and appoints Maria Lillà Montagnani
"Andersen Italia hires Maria Lillà Montagnani as of counsel to join its new AI Governance & Compliance practice within the Privacy, Compliance & 231 service line."

She is an expert in artificial intelligence, digital technologies and the data economy. Montagnani joins Andersen Italia with the seniority of of counsel; prior to joining the firm she served in her academic roles at Università Bocconi as a full professor and programme director.
The new AI Governance & Compliance practice, integrated into the Privacy, Compliance & 231 service line led by partners Paola Finetto and Luca Rigotti, will provide first-level assessments, mapping of applicable obligations, support in defining governance, policies and internal approval flows, review of contracts with technology suppliers and partners, preparation of documentation and audit points, and activities in AI literacy, training and ongoing risk management.
Francesco Inturri, head of legal at Andersen Italia, noted that artificial intelligence is being introduced into sensitive business processes — from hiring to risk assessment, pricing and internal controls — making compliance with the AI Act a strategic governance choice affecting reputation, operational continuity and sustainable growth. Inturri said Montagnani’s academic and professional contribution will strengthen the team’s support to companies and international groups in building a concrete, business-driven model.
