Linda Barrett has joined Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York as a partner in the Executive Compensation Department.

Barrett advises private equity funds and public companies on the executive compensation aspects of a wide range of corporate transactions. She counsels on executive compensation issues and ERISA matters that arise in mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, take-privates, sales, spin-offs and initial public offerings. She also designs and implements compensation and benefit programs, including negotiating executive employment and separation arrangements for both companies and executives.

Her client work spans the technology, financial services, fintech, energy, media and entertainment, business services and transportation sectors. Barrett has advised on benefits and compensation matters in significant transactions including KKR’s acquisition of Broadcom’s end-user computing division; New Mountain Capital’s strategic investment in the non-attest business of Grant Thornton Advisors LLC; and Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust’s acquisition of Preferred Apartment Communities.

Barrett earned a B.A. from Hofstra University and a J.D. from Rutgers Law School, where she was editor of the Rutgers Law Review.
