King & Spalding Expands International Disputes Practice with Five Partners from WilmerHale

Gary Born (London/New York) is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading international arbitration advocates and a preeminent scholar in the field. His practice covers joint venture, investor‑state, M&A, financial services, project finance, energy, intellectual property, construction and insurance disputes. Born led WilmerHale’s international arbitration team for many years; he is joining King & Spalding from WilmerHale as a partner and will co‑lead the firm’s International Disputes practice.
Rachael D. Kent (Washington, D.C.) has more than 25 years of experience representing companies, states, state entities and individuals in commercial and investment arbitrations globally. She has led advocacy in complex commercial and investment arbitrations and has particular expertise in disputes in the technology and pharmaceutical sectors; she also sits as an arbitrator in commercial arbitrations. Kent is joining King & Spalding from WilmerHale as a partner.
Franz T. Schwarz (London) focuses on complex multi‑jurisdictional disputes and will lead the firm’s Civil Law team. He has been involved in more than 300 arbitrations as counsel and arbitrator, advises on the protection of foreign investments under bilateral investment treaties and similar instruments, and has handled joint venture, M&A, life sciences, financial services and other commercial and corporate disputes. Schwarz is joining King & Spalding from WilmerHale as a partner.
Marleen Krueger (London) concentrates on international commercial and investment arbitration across a wide range of industries and jurisdictions, representing clients in institutional arbitrations under ICC, LCIA, DIS, SIAC and UNCITRAL rules and in seats including Germany, England, France, New York, Peru, South Korea, Japan and Switzerland. Her sector experience includes oil and gas, energy, pharmaceutical, construction, intellectual property, technology and automobile industries. Krueger is joining King & Spalding from WilmerHale as a partner.
Danielle Morris (Washington, D.C.) has 15 years of experience advising on international arbitration, with a focus on investor‑State arbitration and public international law. She has represented States, state‑owned entities and private commercial parties in high‑value contract‑based arbitrations under common and civil governing laws, advising clients in sectors including mining, oil and gas, financial services, construction, pharmaceuticals and automotive. Morris is joining King & Spalding from WilmerHale as a partner.
