A&L Goodbody appoints Emma-Jane Flannery as Head of Employment in Belfast

"A&L Goodbody has appointed Emma-Jane Flannery as Head of Employment in Belfast. She will join the firm’s Employment team to advise on employment and equality law and handle contentious and non-contentious workplace matters."

Emma-Jane Flannery has joined A&L Goodbody as Head of Employment Law at the firm’s Belfast office.

Emma-Jane joins A&L Goodbody after four years as in-house Senior Legal Counsel at a major global FMCG and consumer packaged goods company. She brings more than 22 years’ experience advising domestic and international clients on all aspects of employment and equality law and is qualified in Northern Ireland and in England and Wales.

She provides practical, commercially focused advice to employers across a wide range of sectors, supporting clients on day-to-day workplace issues alongside complex projects and disputes. Emma-Jane advises on both contentious and non-contentious matters, including executive appointments, remuneration and severance, TUPE considerations arising from corporate transactions and outsourcing arrangements, complex industrial matters, contracts, policies and best-practice procedures. She regularly speaks at seminars on employment law developments and provides tailored client training across a range of workplace issues.

Working alongside Employment Partner Gareth Walls, Emma-Jane will continue to drive the growth of A&L Goodbody’s eight-strong specialist Employment team in Northern Ireland. Michael Neill, Head of Office at A&L Goodbody in Northern Ireland, welcomed the appointment, noting that her experience across a number of leading law firms in GB and NI together with her in-house experience with a major global brand will be a significant asset to the firm and its clients.
