IW Melcheds appoints Vilma Toshie Kutomi and Christiani Marques as of counsel
"IW Melcheds has appointed Vilma Toshie Kutomi and Christiani Marques as of counsel to strengthen its labor law practice, where they will work on corporate labor matters, strategic litigation, mediations and labor aspects of M&A."
Vilma Toshie Kutomi brings more than four decades of experience in corporate labor law. Her practice encompasses union negotiations, workforce restructurings, strategic litigation and M&A transactions with significant labor components. She joins IW Melcheds as of counsel.
Christiani Marques holds a PhD in labor law, has been a professor for more than 25 years and has over three decades of experience in complex mediations and strategic labor litigation. She is a recognized conflict mediator and ombudsperson and the author of two books in the field: The Protection of Strenuous Work and Employment Contracts and Aesthetic Discrimination. She also joins IW Melcheds as of counsel.
The two join a team that already includes partners Karina Sasaki and Jorge Soares. Partners at IW Melcheds noted that Kutomi and Marques will add significant technical depth and institutional strength to the practice, positioning the group as a reference point for the corporate segment.
