Emilie Woodhead has joined Davis Wright Tremaine LLP as a partner in Los Angeles.

Woodhead brings more than 20 years of experience defending clients in a full range of employment disputes. She concentrates her practice on wage-and-hour class action litigation and advises employers on wage-and-hour compliance under California and federal law. She also regularly handles claims of discrimination, wrongful termination, sexual harassment, and misappropriation of trade secrets. Her experience spans a wide range of industries, including financial services, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, real estate, insurance brokerage, energy, hospitality, pharmaceuticals, and technology, and she draws on deep litigation expertise to provide strategic, experience-based counseling on workplace policies and practices under litigation pressure.

Woodhead joins DWT from Winston & Strawn LLP, where she had practiced since 2006. She enters Davis Wright Tremaine as a partner in the Los Angeles office. She earned her B.A. from UC Berkeley and her J.D. from UCLA School of Law.

Woodhead said she was pleased to join a firm that values and invests in labor and employment capabilities, noting DWT’s full-service platform and collaborative culture. Julie Capell, Los Angeles-based co-chair of DWT’s employment services group, said Woodhead brings top-of-market experience defending employers in high-stakes wage-and-hour litigation and will further elevate the stature of the firm’s Los Angeles office and national labor and employment team.
