Ching-Lee Fukuda joins Morrison Foerster’s New York office from another prominent global law firm, where she served as co-leader of that firm’s global IP litigation practice and was a member of its Global Life Sciences leadership team. A nationally renowned trial lawyer with nearly 30 years of experience, Fukuda has led significant patent and trade secret victories in district courts, the Federal Circuit, arbitration, the International Trade Commission, and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, with a focus on medical devices, medtech and software. She joins the firm as a partner; at her previous firm she was a partner for over a decade and she previously spent 11 years as a partner at another leading global firm.
Tom Broughan joins the firm’s Washington, D.C., office from the same prior firm and also joins as a partner. He brings deep experience in district court litigation, PTAB proceedings and arbitration, and has worked extensively alongside Fukuda. Broughan has significant technical fluency across a broad range of technologies including medical devices, software and telecommunications, and focuses on high‑stakes patent infringement and trade secret litigation in district courts. He regularly serves as lead counsel in PTAB proceedings and has handled more than 80 IPRs, and has been recognized in Best Lawyers for IP Litigation and Patent Law and by The Legal 500 US for Trade Secrets Litigation.
