Hayden Haynes Joins K&L Gates Public Policy and Law Practice

Haynes, described in the release as a senior government strategist, currently serves as Chief of Staff to US Speaker of the House Mike Johnson. In that role he has been the Speaker’s principal advisor and senior manager throughout Speaker Johnson’s tenure, leading strategic, legislative, communications and administrative functions. He oversaw a team of more than 100 staff across leadership, district and political operations, coordinated with Congressional leadership, committee chairs and the Executive Branch of the current and previous administration, and represented the Speaker in complex policy discussions with national and international leaders.
Haynes has extensive experience navigating high‑stakes legislative negotiations and crisis situations and has contributed to the passage of major legislation across administrations, including foreign aid packages for Ukraine and Israel and the Working Families Tax Cuts. Prior to his tenure in House leadership, he held senior roles advising Member offices, directing legislative strategy and managing political operations. He joins K&L Gates from the Office of the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, where he served as Chief of Staff.
