BLB&G appoints Paul Sweeney as Senior Advisor for the United Kingdom and Ireland

Paul brings more than two decades of experience in asset management, financial regulation, corporate governance and investor protection. He joins BLB&G as Senior Advisor after a 21-year career at L&G Asset Management, where he served 18 years as General Counsel and also led Compliance, Fund Governance and other key functions. He advised senior management and boards on legal, regulatory, strategic and governance matters across multiple international jurisdictions.
Widely regarded as a leading legal expert in the European asset management industry, Paul has significant experience in shareholder litigation and investor recovery. While at L&G he played a leading role in the successful resolution of the landmark Royal Bank of Scotland litigation and was instrumental in initiating litigation against Glencore on behalf of institutional investors.
As Senior Advisor at BLB&G, Paul will work closely with the firm’s existing European team to support institutional clients in the UK and Ireland on securities litigation, shareholder recovery, governance and investor protection initiatives.
