Hogan Lovells strengthens New York antitrust practice with partner Elai Katz
"Elai Katz joins Hogan Lovells in New York as a partner in the Antitrust, Competition and Economic Regulation practice, bringing three decades of antitrust experience across regulated industries."
A Chambers Band 1–ranked antitrust lawyer, Katz brings three decades of experience representing clients in New York–centric industries including financial services, insurance, healthcare, e-commerce and technology. He will work on antitrust matters spanning regulatory clearance for transactions in the United States and internationally—frequently achieving rapid resolutions in the early phases of merger reviews—and will represent clients in a range of antitrust disputes, including complex class actions alleging price fixing and monopolization, as well as matters involving distribution arrangements and price discrimination. Katz also advises clients on identifying and mitigating antitrust risks in joint ventures, trade associations, information‑sharing platforms and in marketing, pricing and distribution practices.
Katz received his J.D. from Columbia Law School and his B.A. from Yale University. At the start of his legal career he clerked for Justice Mishael Cheshin of the Supreme Court of Israel.
Firm leaders said Katz’s experience across regulated industries, including financial services, will support Hogan Lovells’ continued expansion in New York as it integrates with Cadwalader and seeks to further develop its antitrust litigation and advisory capabilities.
