DLA Piper adds Travis Mullaney to Government Contracts practice

Travis Mullaney has joined DLA Piper as a Partner in the firm’s Government Contracts practice and is based in the Washington, DC office.

Mullaney focuses his practice on M&A due diligence for transactions involving government contractors, drawing on deep experience across the full procurement lifecycle. His background includes handling bid protests, subcontract negotiations, and claims and disputes litigation. He advises clients on compliance matters commonly faced by government contractors, including domestic preference issues, governmental rights in intellectual property, small business matters, cybersecurity, conflicts of interest, labor requirements, and suspension and debarment risks.

Mullaney’s practice also encompasses national security matters, including Foreign Ownership, Control, and Influence (FOCI) reviews, security clearances, and access to classified and controlled unclassified information. He counsels clients on cybersecurity and information‑control obligations, contractor risk and liability, and developments related to the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) framework.

He joins DLA Piper as a Partner in the Government Contracts practice in Washington, DC. DLA Piper’s leadership noted that his ability to connect procurement, compliance, national security, and transactional considerations will strengthen the firm’s offering as clients navigate increasingly complex transactions.
