DLA Piper expands Global Capital Solutions Practice with addition of Andrew Bechtel
"Andrew Bechtel joins DLA Piper in London as partner to strengthen its Global Capital Solutions practice, advising on leveraged and acquisition financings and complex multi-instrument structures."
Andrew brings a practice advising private equity sponsors, corporates and lenders on strategic leveraged and acquisition financings, including take‑private transactions and multi‑instrumental bank and bond structures. His experience covers a range of sectors and products, including direct credit, real estate finance, loan‑on‑loan financings, preferred equity investments, holdco financings, convertible instruments and emergency liquidity lines. He joins DLA Piper at partner level.
His arrival strengthens DLA Piper’s Global Capital Solutions team, which launched in March with the addition of Ranesh Ramanathan and Alex Cushman in New York and Daniel Wayte in London. The group provides integrated, cross‑border advice across the full spectrum of debt, equity and hybrid strategies to support sophisticated capital partnerships worldwide.
The firm also noted other recent additions to its global Finance and Capital Markets practices, including Rob McClean, Mark Brown, Paul Landless and Richard Hughes in London; Cathrine Foldberg Møller in Luxembourg; Sherlyn Lau in Hong Kong; Charles Ching in Washington DC; and Shana Ramirez in Los Angeles.
Colin Wilson, Global Co‑Chair of DLA Piper’s Finance practice, said Andrew’s appointment reflects the firm’s continued investment in top talent and enhances its ability to deliver joined‑up support on complex, multi‑instrument and cross‑border financings. Ranesh Ramanathan, leader of the global Capital Solutions team, added that Andrew’s track record on sophisticated, high‑value cross‑border transactions amplifies the team’s market‑leading platform.
