Mr. Lenderking joins the firm following a three-decade career at the U.S. Department of State, where he most recently served as Acting Assistant Secretary for Near East Affairs. A career member of the Senior Foreign Service, he has held senior roles across the Middle East and South Asia, including serving as the first U.S. Special Envoy for Yemen and holding postings in Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Iraq, Kuwait, Morocco, Lebanon, Syria and Bangladesh. He is the recipient of the Presidential Merit Award, nine Superior Honor Awards from the Department of State and the Meritorious Civilian Service Award from the Department of the Army for his service in Iraq. Prior to his government service, Mr. Lenderking worked in the humanitarian field in Thailand, Sudan and Afghanistan.
At Squire Patton Boggs he will work within the firm’s Public Policy Practice and bring his Middle East expertise and senior-level government experience to clients seeking advice on complex geopolitical, regulatory and economic issues.
