Taylor Wessing strengthens its patent practice with the appointment of Dr Michael Schneider and Philipp Neels

Dr Michael Schneider and Philipp Neels are joining Taylor Wessing.

Dr Michael Schneider will join Taylor Wessing’s Munich office from the law firm Eisenführ Speiser on 1 June 2026 as an equity partner. A renowned lawyer in the field of patent litigation, he will advise national and international clients on intellectual property matters with a focus on patent and utility model law. The firm highlights his extensive experience in complex, cross-border patent infringement and invalidity proceedings, particularly in the mobile communications, medical technology and high‑tech engineering sectors, and notes his expertise in enforcement and FRAND licensing of standard‑essential patents and in developing sustainable enforcement strategies.

Philipp Neels will move from Eisenführ Speiser to Taylor Wessing as a salary partner. Described as an IP expert, he brings extensive experience in complex, cross‑border patent infringement and invalidity proceedings — notably in the mobile communications, medical technology and high‑tech engineering sectors — and expertise in enforcement and FRAND licensing of standard‑essential patents and in the development of sustainable enforcement strategies.
