Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati Adds M&A Partner Sachin Kohli in New York

Kohli joins Wilson Sonsini from Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, where he spent his entire legal career. He began at Weil as an associate in 2006 and was elected partner in 2016. At Wilson Sonsini he will serve as a partner in the firm’s M&A practice, contributing to the firm’s national M&A platform and expanding its New York presence with a focus on transformative transactions across life sciences, healthcare, and technology.
Over nearly two decades at Weil, Kohli advised a range of nationally recognized public and private companies and leading private equity sponsors on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other corporate matters. He is noted for combining transactional execution with strategic counsel on governance, disclosure, shareholder activism, and defensive preparedness. His cross-sector experience includes life sciences, healthcare, technology, energy, gaming, consumer, and industrials.
Kohli has worked on numerous high-profile transactions, including Sanofi’s acquisitions of Blueprint Medicines, Dynavax Technologies, Provention Bio, and Bioverativ; The Dow Chemical Company’s merger of equals with DuPont and its subsequent spin-off; MGM Resorts International’s sale of MGM Growth Properties to VICI Properties; and Kroger’s proposed acquisition of Albertsons. He is active in the legal and academic communities, serving on the Dean’s Advisory Council for the University at Buffalo School of Law and as a member of the New York City Bar Association’s Committee on Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Control Contests. Kohli holds a J.D., magna cum laude, an M.B.A., and a B.S., cum laude, all from the University at Buffalo; he served as editor-in-chief of the Buffalo Law Review.
