Auren appoints Juan Antonio García Jabaloy as of counsel

García Jabaloy strengthens Auren’s economic criminal law practice, with a focus on international judicial cooperation and cross-border criminal matters. He joins the firm as of counsel after serving as a partner at DLA Piper for ten years. He also serves as co‑president of the Criminal Law section of the Madrid Bar Association, a position he has held since 2016.
García Jabaloy brings more than 25 years of experience in the Spanish Public Prosecutor’s Office. Between 2004 and 2016 he was a prosecutor at the Audiencia Nacional and from 2012 to 2016 acted as coordinator of extraditions and European arrest warrants, participating in numerous proceedings related to economic crime and serving as the contact point for IberRed and the European Judicial Network. From 2006 to 2012 he was Spain’s National Member at Eurojust in The Hague, where he led the Spanish delegation and chaired the joint working group between OLAF and Eurojust. Earlier in his career he served as prosecutor at the Superior Courts of Justice of Catalonia and the Valencian Community, and he has participated as an expert for UNODC on international judicial cooperation projects in Latin America, West Africa, the Maghreb and the Middle East.
