Holland & Knight Strengthens National Gaming Practice with Katherine Baker and Joshua Kirschner

Katherine Baker joins Holland & Knight to lead its national Gaming Practice. Ms. Baker is a gaming regulatory attorney and litigator who assists casino gaming, iGaming, sports betting and fantasy sports operators, vendors and entrepreneurs, including in leveraging financial technology solutions. She advises clients on regulatory compliance, licensing and legislative strategy, provides legal opinions in support of operations, serves as gaming regulatory counsel for corporate transactions and represents clients in complex litigation matters in state and federal court, primarily in gaming-related disputes. She joins Holland & Knight from Nelson Mullins, where she was a partner and served as chair of the firm's Gaming Industry Group. Ms. Baker received a J.D. from Boston College Law School and a B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross; she is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
Joshua Kirschner will serve as deputy team leader of Holland & Knight's national Gaming Practice. Mr. Kirschner focuses on advising gaming clients on litigation, regulatory and strategic risk in connection with gaming operations, business transactions and disputes, and on crisis management and response. He has worked on gaming-related matters for a wide variety of clients within and adjacent to the gaming industry, including sports betting, iGaming, fantasy sports, casino and skill-based gaming companies, prediction market platforms, sports teams and leagues, media and entertainment companies, technology companies and financial service providers. He joins Holland & Knight from Nelson Mullins, where he was a partner. Mr. Kirschner received a J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Georgia; he is admitted to practice in Georgia and New Mexico.
