Paxlegal appoints Francisco de Mendonça Tavares as of counsel for corporate

Tavares brings more than 25 years of experience across national and international law firms, where he held partner-level roles throughout his career. He joins from Eaglestone Capital Partners, where he was a founding partner, and will strengthen Paxlegal’s corporate, capital markets, private clients and investment practices.
His practice is centred on corporate law, M&A, banking and finance, and real estate, with active involvement in venture capital, private equity and corporate governance. Over the course of his career he has advised on complex investment transactions, corporate reorganisations and asset structuring, and has assisted private clients, family offices and business groups on wealth management, succession planning and family business restructuring.
Alongside his legal practice, Tavares has held executive and non-executive board positions across various business groups and is a founding partner and director of a venture capital firm regulated by the CMVM, where he is involved in fund structuring, investor relations and deal origination and execution.
He holds a law degree from the Faculdade de Direito da Universidade Católica Portuguesa, an LL.M. in International Business Law from King’s College London, and a postgraduate qualification in Accounting and Finance from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
