Holland & Knight Welcomes Tax Partner Kyle Wingfield in Richmond
"Holland & Knight hires tax partner Kyle Wingfield in Richmond to join its Tax, Executive Compensation and Benefits Practice and State and Local Tax (SALT) Team."
Mr. Wingfield joins Holland & Knight’s Tax, Executive Compensation and Benefits Practice Group and will be a key member of the firm’s State and Local Tax (SALT) Team. He enters Holland & Knight with the seniority of partner, having been a partner at Williams Mullen prior to joining the firm.
A SALT and tax controversy lawyer, Mr. Wingfield provides full‑service representation to publicly traded companies, privately held businesses and their owners on federal, state and local tax matters. He regularly advises clients on complex transactional matters, planning opportunities and tax controversies involving income taxes, sales and use taxes, and business license and personal property taxes, and he defends clients in federal and state tax audits, administrative hearings and litigation.
Mr. Wingfield currently serves as chair of the Virginia Bar Association’s Tax Section and is a member of the American Bar Association SALT Executive Committee, where he is also managing editor for the ABA SALT newsletter Connexus. He has been recognized by Virginia Business magazine’s "Legal Elite" and The Best Lawyers in America for Tax Law. Mr. Wingfield earned an LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, a J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Virginia, and is admitted to practice in Virginia, Washington, D.C., and North Carolina.
