Addleshaw Goddard appoints rail specialist Jason Chamberlain as Partner in London

Jason Chamberlain has joined Addleshaw Goddard as a Partner in the firm’s Transport team in London.

Chamberlain brings nearly 30 years of experience in the UK and international rail sector. His practice covers passenger franchising and concessioning, freight and open access, rolling stock procurement and financing, rail infrastructure construction and operation, station and depot development, digital infrastructure, and rail‑sector corporate transactions. He has extensive experience on PPP and privately financed rail projects and has advised government bodies, financiers, manufacturers and operators on commercial, regulatory and investment mandates.

He joins Addleshaw Goddard from BCLP, where he spent the last eight years as a Partner. Prior to that he spent 14 years at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer working on high‑profile PPP and rail infrastructure projects. He began his career in the public sector at the Office of Passenger Rail Franchising (OPRAF), later the Strategic Rail Authority (SRA), before moving into private practice.

Chamberlain’s international experience, including work in PPP and privately financed rail projects, aligns with the firm’s strategic focus on expanding its transport offering into overseas markets such as the Middle East and Central & Eastern Europe. His appointment also strengthens the firm’s Tier 1 Rail practice amid significant reform in the UK rail industry.
