Moore & Van Allen Adds Tara Hopkins as Member and Head of Government Contracts
"Moore & Van Allen welcomes Tara Hopkins as Member and Head of its Government Contracts practice; she will advise on federal procurement, bid protests, FAR/DFARS compliance and government contracts M&A."
Hopkins advises companies that do business with the federal government across all stages of the procurement lifecycle. Her practice encompasses government contracts-focused mergers and acquisitions and due diligence, bid protests before the U.S. Government Accountability Office and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, FAR and DFARS compliance, investigations, and government contracts litigation. She is noted for providing practical, business-focused guidance in matters involving compressed timelines, heightened regulatory scrutiny, and strategic risk considerations.
As Head of the Government Contracts practice, Hopkins will lead a coordinated platform that integrates the firm’s capabilities across corporate, litigation, labor and employment, and intellectual property, enabling clients to address government contracting issues within broader commercial, transactional, and operational strategies. She regularly advises corporate and private equity clients on M&A involving government contracts, including diligence, compliance risk assessment, novations, and post-closing integration.
Hopkins earned her J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from The Ohio State University. She is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, Virginia, and Ohio.
