Willkie Farr & Gallagher Adds Partners Gregory Gartland and April Doxey to Chicago Finance and Restructuring Team

Gregory Gartland joins Willkie as a partner with nearly 25 years of experience advising clients across numerous industries on finance and insolvency matters. He focuses on lending transactions, out-of-court workouts and recapitalizations, in-court restructurings, remedies exercises and distressed mergers and acquisitions. Gartland regularly advises private credit lenders, lenders, borrowers, agents and other stakeholders in distressed transactions and special situations, including change of control restructurings, proxy exercises, foreclosures and Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases. He joins from Winston & Strawn, where he served as co-chair of the Financial Restructuring Practice.
April Doxey joins Willkie as a partner and is a nationally recognized leader in private credit. She serves as lead counsel for private credit funds, special situation and opportunistic funds and other investment advisors, as well as leading financial institutions and borrowers, handling the full spectrum of credit transactions — including leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, rescues, exits, out-of-court restructurings and broadly syndicated financings. Her practice encompasses performing credit and the finance aspects of in-court and out-of-court workouts and restructurings. She joins from Winston & Strawn, where she served as co-chair of the Private Credit Practice.
