DWF appoints Chris Spelman as partner in London dispute resolution team
"DWF has appointed Chris Spelman as a partner in its London dispute resolution team. He will work on financial services litigation and investigations, regulatory and whistleblowing matters, and class actions."
He joins DWF as a partner with more than ten years’ experience advising banks, corporates and senior individuals on complex litigation, regulatory issues and investigations across the UK and US. His practice focuses on financial services litigation and investigations, regulatory and whistleblowing matters, and class action, securities and shareholder disputes.
Prior to joining DWF, Chris worked at Slaughter and May in London, and at Milbank LLP and Cravath Swaine & Moore LLP in New York. He undertook a range of general commercial litigation matters and in particular advised financial institutions, investment firms, corporates and executive management on high value, strategically significant disputes and complex regulatory investigations.
At DWF, Chris will work closely with colleagues across disputes, regulatory, insurance and the firm’s other practice areas to provide an integrated commercial litigation offering for clients facing complex and evolving contentious challenges.
Outside his legal practice, Chris is actively involved in pro bono and community initiatives. He is a trustee of CharityComms and founded a non-profit organisation that uses music to support Irish children with additional needs.
