Erico Advogados launches strategic litigation and arbitration practice in Brasília

Carvalho departs after more than two decades as a partner at a traditional Brasília firm. He has built a track record in constitutional, regulatory, contractual and arbitral matters and establishes Erico Advogados to focus on strategic litigation before the Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) and the Superior Tribunal de Justiça (STJ), together with corporate disputes and arbitration. The new firm is structured around Carvalho’s direct involvement in every case; he has stated that he will participate personally in all matters from strategy to drafting. The practice will serve sectors including technology, urban mobility, agribusiness, payment systems, infrastructure, fuel, media, shipping and the automotive industry.
Arbitration constitutes a second core pillar of the firm. The independent structure is intended to reduce potential conflicts of interest and expand Carvalho’s capacity to act both as counsel and as arbitrator, with particular attention to the interface between arbitration and the judiciary, including support measures, annulment actions, enforcement, homologation and the defence of arbitral awards.
Carvalho holds a specialisation in International Relations from the Universidade de Brasília (UnB) and an LL.M. from Columbia Law School.
