Charles Russell Speechlys bolsters Milan tax practice with partner Paolo Rampulla and counsel Raffaella Piraccini

"Charles Russell Speechlys expands its Milan corporate tax team: Paolo Rampulla joins as partner and Raffaella Piraccini as counsel, both working in corporate tax."

Paolo Rampulla and Raffaella Piraccini have joined Charles Russell Speechlys' Milan office, respectively as partner and as counsel in the firm's corporate tax practice.

Paolo Rampulla joins Charles Russell Speechlys as a partner in Corporate Tax at the Milan office. He arrives from Advant Nctm after a twenty-year career there, where he served as an equity partner. Rampulla will establish and lead the firm's corporate tax activity in Italy in close integration with the global Corporate practice. His experience covers domestic and international taxation in M&A, private equity and financing, corporate reorganisations and transfer pricing, with a regular focus on cross-border transactions involving companies, investors and entrepreneurs.

Raffaella Piraccini has been appointed counsel in the Milan office with a specialisation in corporate tax. She joins from Spada Partners, where since 2022 she held the role of senior tax counsel. Her work encompasses tax advice to groups and multinationals, international tax matters, M&A transactions and the drafting of ruling requests, with significant experience in the healthcare and industrial sectors.

The firm also announced the imminent addition of a further senior specialist in tax litigation to its Italian practice.

Charles Russell Speechlys opened its Milan office in November 2024 and strengthened it in October 2025 with the appointment of partner Annapaola Negri-Clementi and her team. The Milan team has recently relocated to new offices on Via Borgogna 8. Rampulla's appointment forms part of a series of partner-level hires in Europe that include Luca Beffa in the Arbitration team, Frédéric Ney in the Tax team in Geneva and Marguerite Brac de La Perrière as partner for IT, Data and AI in Paris.

Michael Lingens, regional lead for Continental Europe, highlighted that Rampulla's experience supporting high-value transactions aligns with the firm's objective to strengthen tax capabilities to support private equity, family offices and internationally mobile capital, consolidating Milan as a key European hub within the firm's international platform. Nicola Saccardo, partner and head of the Italian Practice, said the appointment reflects the continuous development of the Milan office, which since its opening has recorded steady growth and increasingly close collaboration between practices and jurisdictions.
