Gunster Strengthens Jacksonville Labor and Employment Capabilities with Cameron G. Kynes as Shareholder

"Gunster adds Cameron G. Kynes as a shareholder in its Jacksonville office to bolster its labor and employment practice, representing employers in litigation, compliance, restrictive covenant and wage-and-hour matters."

Cameron G. Kynes has joined Gunster as a shareholder in the firm’s Jacksonville office, becoming the firm’s first labor and employment attorney in that market.

Kynes represents employers in a broad range of workplace matters, helping companies anticipate, manage and resolve issues before they escalate into disputes. He defends clients in single-plaintiff claims, complex multiparty cases, collective actions and class actions in federal and state courts, as well as before administrative agencies and in arbitration. He also counsels employers on compliance with federal, state and local employment laws, including the FMLA, FLSA, ADA, ADEA, NLRA and Title VII.

His practice includes defending claims involving discrimination, retaliation, harassment and wage-and-hour issues, and handling disputes concerning restrictive covenants, trade secrets and related business torts. He has significant experience seeking and opposing emergency injunctive relief in noncompete and nonsolicitation matters and advising employers on strategies to protect their business interests.

Kynes has secured favorable outcomes in high-exposure employment litigation, defeated class certification in complex wage-and-hour matters and obtained injunctive relief in restrictive covenant disputes. Known for a strategic, business-minded approach, he also leverages technology, including AI-driven tools, to streamline processes and optimize results for clients.

He brings a well-rounded perspective shaped by experience in private practice, in-house secondments and a federal appellate clerkship. Previously, he clerked for the Honorable Gregory A. Phillips of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and practiced in the Washington, D.C. office of an international law firm. Kynes earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and his B.A., magna cum laude, in history from the University of Florida.
