EY Law Portugal hires Bruno Azevedo Rodrigues as equity partner to lead Finance & Projects team

Bruno Azevedo Rodrigues joins EY Law Portugal as an equity partner to head its Finance & Projects (Energy and Infrastructure) practice. He arrives from Abreu Advogados, where he coordinated the Projects and Structured Finance practice. Over a career spanning more than two decades, he has advised borrowers, lenders and issuers on energy and infrastructure project finance, acquisition finance, real estate finance and M&A transactions in regulated sectors, including cross-border mandates in Angola, Mozambique and Timor-Leste.
The incoming team will include Nuno Castelão, who joins as an associate partner and brings international experience from A&O Shearman (formerly Allen & Overy). Rui Ferreira de Almeida joins as a senior associate, previously at Abreu Advogados. Ashick Remetula joins as a principal associate, previously at Linklaters. Beatriz Baião do Nascimento joins as a principal associate, previously at Vieira de Almeida. Margarida Oliveira Pedro joins as an associate, previously at Abreu Advogados. Inês Pinto da Costa, who joined EY Law in June 2025, will also be part of the team as an associate partner.
EY Law Portugal says the appointments form part of a growth strategy centred on integrating senior teams with immediate execution capacity. With this expansion the firm now counts more than 40 lawyers and intends to continue hiring in both existing and new practice areas. João Nóbrega, managing partner of EY Law in Portugal, stated that the integration of Bruno Azevedo Rodrigues as an equity partner and the supporting senior team reflects an institutional commitment to deepen specialised capabilities and to ensure the seniority and depth required to support increasingly complex finance transactions, particularly in energy and infrastructure, in alignment with EY’s other service lines.
