Gianni & Origoni strengthens Hong Kong team with Teresa Lee as foreign partner
"Gianni & Origoni hires Teresa Lee as foreign partner in its Hong Kong office to bolster corporate and M&A, capital markets and cross-border services."
Lee brings consolidated experience in corporate finance and IPOs, with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, capital reorganizations and cross-border transactions. During her career she has advised clients on outbound investments by operators from the People’s Republic of China and on complex compliance and regulatory matters, including issues relating to the Hong Kong Listing Rules and the Hong Kong Takeovers Code. She joins Gianni & Origoni from the Hong Kong office of JunHe, where she assisted investment banks, funds, listed and private companies and Chinese state-owned enterprises on extraordinary finance and corporate finance. She also has significant experience in international transactions across the Asia‑Pacific region, Europe and the United States.
The appointment consolidates Gianni & Origoni’s strategy in the Chinese market, strengthening the firm’s corporate and M&A, capital markets and transnational capabilities. Gianni & Origoni’s Hong Kong team, closely coordinated with its Shanghai office, forms the firm’s strategic hub for Asia. The firm has been active in China since 2007 through a dedicated desk and subsequently opened offices in Hong Kong (2014) and Shanghai (2018), further expanding its presence with additions including ambassador Vincenzo De Luca and foreign partners Sergio Scanu and Yujing Liu.
Alessandro Zalonis, partner responsible for Gianni & Origoni’s China Practice, commented that Lee’s arrival represents a further step in strengthening the firm’s presence in China and will enhance its capacity to assist Chinese clients in their investments in Italy and Europe amid growing interconnection between Asian and European markets.
In 2025 the firm announced the full integration of Studio Legale Pellegrino, which is active in corporate criminal law.
